 "Haicoo: Little Poems for Children" by Forrest Greenslade and Kathryn Armstrong
 SUNDAY, MARCH 4   3-4PM 

This is an afternoon for children and their adults!  "Haicoo: Little Poems for Children" is a bunch of silly haiku with cute drawings of animals.  Forrest says, "This is a great way to introduce children to the joy of art and poetry.  Forrest will share the book of poems written and illustrated by his daughter, Kathryn Armstrong, and him.  He will also lead kids in creating some haicoo of their own.


   SINGER-SONGWRITER RICHARD EDWARDS
    FRIDAY, MARCH 9  7-9 PM

Award-winning singer-songwriter, Richard Edwards, will perform with requests to be honored, questions to be answered, songs from the attic to be uncovered. Singing along welcome but totally optional!

    The Joyful Jewel invited writers of all ages and levels to come to the gallery, pen in hand.  They perused the gallery to see which piece of art, jewelry, or craft would inspire them.  Presentations will include the Writer Artist, the Visual Artist, and the Art!   Submissions are due March 3, click here for Request for Submission.

“Cortete: Music of the Origins”
 
     Elizabeth Haddix coaxes her original tunes from an upright base, an acoustic guitar and from Wes Newell (trombone, flugelhorn, trumpet, harmonica and keys), Eddie Holm (guitar & bass guitar, vocals) and Arturo Velasquez (percussion & vocals).  Cortete is the resulting concoction:  “core” or Coeur *heart) + “head or tete (mind
