Jeannette Rogers’ Translation of Passejada Menerbesa

Occitan writing from the 11th century to the present is a Romance language spoken in southern and south-central France, the Val d’Aran in northeastern Spain, and a small part of northwestern Italy, Occitan is closely associated with the troubadours, composers of courtly lyric poetry of the 12th and 13th century.  Jeannette Rogers has specialized in translating this beautiful poetic language into English.  Passejada menerbesa: Wild Roman Byways” is a book by contemporary French author Miguel Decor, who writes in the ancient langue of Occitan in the style of the troubadours, and  that was translated into English by Jeannette Rogers.
